CASPER, Wyo. — The Campbell County Fire Department responded to the area of Heald Road at around 2:47 p.m. Sunday for the report of a grass and timber fire.
The CCFD said on Monday morning that the fire was still active and that crews from the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service and Campbell County Road and Bridge were assisting on response to the fire.
While the fire had not received specific mapping, the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center shows that the fire is estimated at around 3,000 acres and that a full suppression strategy is being employed.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for all of Campbell County and much of Weston and Crook County. That warning will be in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
“The hot and dry weather with gusty winds will produce critical fire weather conditions,” the CCFD says. “Continue to practice Fire Safety, Campbell County.”
