CASPER, Wyo. — A Casper man is facing aggravated assault charges following a May 11 shooting on South Washington Street that injured a 16-year-old boy, the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Authorities arrested Sebastian Belden, 21, of Casper, on May 23 around 7:30 p.m. without incident. He is currently being held at the Natrona County Detention Center.
The ongoing investigation revealed that before the shooting, Belden and the victim were mishandling firearms, including pointing loaded handguns at each other. Belden then pointed his handgun at the victim outside a residence on the 100 block of South Washington Street and fired, striking the teen.
The victim remains hospitalized and is receiving medical treatment. The incident is still under active investigation.
A GoFundMe campaign was launched for the 16-year-old Casper resident, identified on the campaign by his aunt as Tyler Ray Campos.
