November 11th, a threat was received towards Natrona County School District officials. This according to an written statement to press, sent Sunday evening.

This incident was reported to local law enforcement and district officials say the investigation is ongoing.

“To ensure the safety of staff members, we will not be appearing on a previously scheduled news interview,” says the written statement from NCSD 1. “We appreciate the understanding of our media partner and will work together with media partners and stakeholders to continue discussions on addressing bullying concerns and prevention.”

It was unspecified which media outlet was scheduled for an interview. Oil City had no such interview scheduled.

The District says the threat was specifically directed to NCSD officials and that there was no threat towards schools or students.

Schools will operate as normal.

“We appreciate the commitment of all stakeholders in assisting us to address the concern of bullying, harassment, and intimidation in our schools and our community,” the written statement said.
