CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper City Council has set a public hearing for 6 p.m. Aug. 15 regarding the transfer of ownership for retail liquor license No. 12. The proposed transfer would move the license from Mesa Liquors LLC, which closed its doors last month, to Casper Taco Shop LLC, which operates Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, at 3243 Talon Drive, according to a staff memo prepared for the City Council.
The applicant seeks to lease space to Horse Palace and introduce 85 gaming machines throughout the building. As part of the proposed plans, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop would expand to occupy all three suites.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop currently holds a bar and grill liquor license, while Mesa Liquors operated under a retail liquor license. With the planned expansion into suites 300 and 400, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop would no longer require the bar and grill license.
The applicant intends to use the existing retail liquor license immediately at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop and add the expansion later this summer in conjunction with the introduction of gaming machines. As a result, the bar and grill license would revert back to the City of Casper.
To ensure compliance with local codes and ordinances, the City of Casper Fire-EMS Department, City of Casper Community Development Department and Natrona County Health Department will conduct a thorough review of the business.
The public hearing, scheduled for Aug. 15 during the regular council meeting, will provide an opportunity for community members and stakeholders to voice their thoughts and concerns regarding the proposed transfer of the retail liquor license.
Due to ongoing and extensive renovations at City Hall, the City Council will meet in The Lyric, 230 W. Yellowstone Highway, at 6 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
