Three bills passed on third reading in the Wyoming Legislature Wednesday, January 30.
The Senate unanimously passed a bill amending language governing school boards’ power to suspend and expel students. The bill adds the term “expulsion” in places that previously only included the word expulsion. That bill, SF 120, can be viewed here.
The Senate also passed a bill defining burglary and setting maximum punishments. It defines burglary as the attempted or successful theft of property amounting to less than $1,000 during the course of the crime. It defines burglary as a misdemeanor punishable by no more than one year in prison and/or a fine no more than $1,000. That bill, SF 86, passed on third hearing 22 to 8. It can be viewed here.
The House passed a bill on third reading limiting the power of indemnity provisions in construction contracts. It includes certain changes that would make contracts unenforceable if they make one party liable for another party’s negligence. House Bill 94 passed 49 to 9 with 2 abstaining.
