A man wanted by the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office for failing to return to Casper Re-entry Center, after a scheduled release, has been confirmed as a suspect in a car theft.
According to Casper Police Sergeant Mike Ogden, 36-year-old Jerome M. Dunks has been identified in the theft of a vehicle from a local automobile dealer.
Police say that Dunks is said to have test driven a 2012 gray Honda Civic, 4-door on the Afternoon of Monday, April 9th. The suspect then failed to return with the vehicle.
Dunks made headlines Monday morning, as it was announced by Natrona County Sheriff’s Office officials that they were seeking him after failing to check in to Casper Re-entry Center.
Dunks was serving a sentence at C.R.C. for an original charge of Wrongful Receipt or Disposing of Property out of Hot Springs County.
Dunks was reported missing by C.R.C. at approximately 8:20 pm, on April 7th, 2018, after failing to return from his work release.

Ogden said that the Casper Police Department also anticipates pursuing charges for the auto theft. The NCSO continues to investigate Dunks’ absconding from custody.
