The Mills Fire Department has released a statement regarding a deadly early morning blaze that claimed the life of one woman, and left another person reportedly injured.
The statement confirms information released earlier, Monday morning, October 8th. However, the statement says that the identities of the deceased in the fire at the Lariat Trailer Court is yet to be released, pending notification of the family.

The statement also regards another fire in the Town of Mills, later Monday morning.
No injuries have been reported in regards to the second fire.
Full statement from the Mills Fire Department follows:
On the early morning of October 8, 2018 at approximately 3:00 am, Mills Fire Department, Natrona County Fire Protection District, Casper Fire Department, Mills Police Department, Natrona County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a structure fire in the 4000 block of W. Yellowstone Highway in Mills. Crews were advised of active fire coming from this address and possibly 2 victims inside the structure. Crews arrived on scene to find a Mills Police Officer pulling one victim from the structure as they attempted to find the second victim. Unfortunately the second victim could not be located and crews battled the blaze for approximately 3o minutes until it was out. Upon extinguishment, crews located the second victim inside the structure and it was apparent the victim was deceased. The rescued victim was transported to WMC for further treatment. One Firefighter and one police officer were evaluated for minor injuries.
The cause of the fire and cause of death to the victim is still under investigation and further details will be provided at a later date once next of kin are notified.
Also on October 8th, 2018, Mills Fire Department, Natrona County Fire Protection District and Mills Police Department responded to another structure fire at the 500 block of N 2nd Ave. in Mills. Upon arrival, crews found active fire under the skirting of a mobile home. The fire was extinguished with no further damage to the exterior of the home as well as no fire damage to the interior of the home. Investigative efforts found this fire to possibly be caused by faulty electrical wiring or electrical heat tape. The home was returned to the owners and no further investigative efforts were needed.
