Casper police say that they’ve arrested a Colorado man on recommended charges including Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Heroin.
Officers say that they were in the area of the 2900 block of Hanway, just before 5:30 pm, on November 1st, for an original report of a burglary.
An owner of the house informed police that he had noticed the front door was open, and that he had planned to evict the tenant.
During police investigation, officers made contact with a male inside the house who was not listed as the tenant. The man was identified as Seth Laird Carmichael of Lakewood, Colorado.
An affidavit in the case notes that a hooded sweatshirt worn by Carmichael seemed to have several items in the front pocket. Officers describe asking Carmichael about the contents, to which the suspect was said to have pulled several items out of his pockets including a syringe.
Carmichael is reported to have told officers that he was diabetic, but the affidavit says that he failed to inform officers of what type of diabetic.
Police then say that Carmichael was asked if he was lying, to which the suspect is quoted as saying “yeah.”
The suspect is then said to have admitted that he had used syringes on his person. A subsequent search of Carmichael yielded four used syringes, a clear glass pipe suspected for methamphetamine use, and a small amount of suspected heroin.
Carmichael was arrested and transported to the Natrona County Detention Center without further reported incident.
