Casper Police have arrested three individuals, after it was alleged that they were involved in a vehicle chase, wherein it’s said that one vehicle rammed another.

According to Casper Police Department Paperwork, on the evening of August, 4th, witnesses reported to police that they observed a grey Jeep traveling an estimated 45-50 mph around the parking lot of an east side grocery store parking lot, chasing and allegedly attempting to ram a white Subaru.

Other witnesses say that the Jeep was traveling through a crowded parking lot, jumped a parking median, and rammed the white Subaru. It was alleged by witnesses that the chase occurred throughout various areas of east side Casper, including parking lots for The Eastridge Mall, Ridleys, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Kmart, and Albertson’s.

Police responded to the East 2nd Street Albertson’s, at approximately 6:30 pm, and reported seeing the grey Jeep speed across traffic and into the west entrance of the east side Albertson’s parking lot. Police entered the lot and activated their overhead lights, which officers say prompted the Jeep to stop.

Officers say that the driver, later identified as Andrew Berg, exited the Jeep and “charged” officers, before being given commands, which police say that Berg followed.

Police write in an affidavit that they also made contact with the occupants of the Subaru, saying that the driver, identified as Daniel Wylie, exited the vehicle and “attempted to hastily walk into Albertson’s” before being given commands by officers.

Police also not that a female passenger, identified as Alysha Dahl, exited the front passenger seat with a backpack and attempted to flee and hide from officers. Police say that they were able to catch up with Dahl, who was said to be rummaging in a backpack.

Officers say that Wylie gave a false identity to police, including an identification card. When confronted, police say that it was discovered that Wylie had used a false identity. Wylie claimed to have an ID card and Passport for another person, that he was attempting to return. Police note in the affidavit that “Wylie provided no statement for why he initially claimed” the false identity.

The affidavit goes on to note that Wylie and Berg were known to have suspended driver’s licenses, and that the white Subaru had been reported stolen.

Officers go on to say that Dahl told them that she had been a passenger in the white Subaru, driven by Wylie. She says that while at the Casper Village apartments, she noticed they were being followed by a man in a grey Jeep, matching Berg’s description. She further alleges that Wylie took off at a high rate of speed and was chased by the Jeep. At on point Dahl claims that the Subaru and Jeep collided and broke a window in the Subaru. She further said that she believed the collision was intentional.

Police say that during an interview with Wylie, the suspect claimed to have knowledge of a stolen Subaru from the Casper Village Apartments. Police say that Wylie denied stealing the vehicle, but Wylie claimed that an acquaintance had found the car parked somewhere, and Wylie then found the vehicle and drove it to Casper Village to “confront” the owner. Wylie claimed that the owner had accused him of stealing the car.

During the investigation, officers report finding methamphetamine located in a backpack that Dahl was carrying. The total combined weight of which was noted as 6.44 grams.

Officers also report finding a small jewelers baggie of suspected methamphetamine in a metal clipboard that Wylie had been observed to be holding, when police arrived on scene.

Berg was ultimately placed under arrest on recommended charges of Driving Under Suspension, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangerment.

Wylie was arrested and booked in on recommended charges of Driving Under Suspension, Wrongful Taking of Disposing of Property, Interference, and Controlled Substance Possession- Meth.

Dahl was arrested and booked on recommended charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
