A Casper couple was arrested, after police say that an executed search warrant found suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.

According to law enforcement records, 24-year-old Shaina McCarthy and 29-year-old Shane Patrick were arrested during the late morning hours of Thursday, June 28th, 2018.

Patrick faces a recommended charge of Possession of Methamphetamine, as well as a booking for an outstanding criminal warrant.

McCarthy faces recommended charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Attempt to Conspire, Conspiracy, and a hold for the Probation and Parole office.

According to arrest affidavits in the case, police officers executed a search warrant for a residence on the 1900 block of Glendo Street, in Casper, just after 9:00 am, Thursday.

At the residence, police say they made contact with Patrick and McCarthy.

Officers note that Patrick had a confirmed warrant for Theft and Assault and Battery, and Patrick was taken into custody.

During the execution of the search warrant, officers say that they observed items commonly used to ingest methamphetamine.

Police say that another search warrant was applied for and granted, allowing for the search of possible criminal controlled substance violations. During the execution of that warrant, officers say that they found a safe in a bedroom believed to belong to Patrick. Inside the safe, officers report finding an ad hoc pipe with methamphetamine residue and a grinder containing suspected marijuana.

Police also report finding a purse, containing identification for McCarthy. Also located inside the purse was a plastic bindle containing suspected methamphetamine.

McCarthy and Patrick were arrested and transported to the Natrona County Detention Center without further reported incident.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
