An increased police presence will continue around area schools, following reports of a sexual assault on a teenage victim, at a Casper high school.
The incident happened just before noon, Monday, October 23rd. Police say that the 17-year-old female victim reported that she was exiting the school, through a parking lot at Kelly Walsh High School when she was approached by the male suspect.
According to Casper Police Department Investigations Sergeant Mike Ogden, the man began touching the girl. “The male made a comment to her, started putting his hands on her. She was able to push him off and get into her vehicle, and the male fled the scene.”
Police have released a description of the man, saying they believe he is a white male, approximately 6′ 0″ tall, 180 lbs, gray t-shirt, faded jeans, with unshaven gray facial hair.
The male suspect was last seen running north away from KWHS.
“We’re going to have additional presence in the area,” Ogden says. “Not only that school, but the schools around town.”
Police officials also advise that students who are outside of the school, should walk and travel in pairs or groups, and to be mindful of their surroundings.
