CASPER, Wyo. — Casper residents can expect a gentle introduction to the upcoming week’s active weather conditions. With mild temperatures and isolated showers primarily in northern Wyoming today, the city should enjoy a fairly typical fall day.
However, the atmosphere will rapidly shift, ushering in colder temperatures and a likelihood of snow, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.
“Today seems to be the calm before a rather intricate and dynamic stretch over the subsequent days,” NWS Meteorologist Chris Hattings states.
For today, Casper will be graced with sunshine and the mercury is expected to top around 61 degrees. However, Wednesday signifies the onset of dramatic shifts.

“Temperature contrasts might be extreme come Wednesday, potentially showcasing a 40-degree difference across specific areas,” Hattings noted, indicating that locations like Cody could experience cooler conditions than Casper.
