The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for tonight.
A cold spring storm will impact the Cowboy State through Friday night with significant snowfall.
A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, and or blowing snow are expected or occurring. This could make travel very hazardous or impossible. The main impacts from this storm system will shift from western Wyoming this morning, into northern and central Wyoming later today and this evening as the rain and snow changes to all snow, and becomes heavy at times. The snow is gradually expected to taper off from north to south Friday afternoon into Friday night.
A mix of rain and snow will change to snow by this evening. Periods of snow will continue into Friday evening.
5 to 9 inches of snow accumulation possible, with the highest amounts in northern Natrona County and lesser amounts toward Casper.
Roads will likely become slushy to snow covered later tonight, and remain slick at times through Friday night.
The worst driving conditions should occur Friday morning, with some improvement in road conditions by midday Friday. Heavy snow will reduce visibility below a quarter mile at times.
