CASPER, Wyo. — KWHS Nordic skier Fisk Johansson wasn’t quite sure if he’d pursue skiing in his college career until earlier this year, even after he’d won the first of two championships during the past two seasons.
“I’m a mountain biker too, and I thought about maybe that path,” he said during a signing ceremony at KWHS on Monday afternoon. “But I think this is where it’s at.”
The room was filled with KWHS Nordic teammates, and a few cycling buddies from NCHS even showed up for support.

During Fisk’s stellar skiing career at KWHS, he picked up two championships, and he also helped the KWHS team win the state championships over the past two years. He picked up the Willie Neal Award this year as well, and was named Prep Athlete of the Week in February.
Green Bay is a Division 1 NCAA school, and Fisk will be working toward a kinesiology degree with hopes of coaching NCAA or the U.S. Ski Team in the future.

Fisk is looking back fondly at this time with the KWHS ski team, which he described as supportive and tight. “Having that team and the coaches to support me through that all made for just such a good feeling,” he said.
