A snowboarder was injured after crashing at Hogadon Basin Ski Area on Sunday afternoon.
According to Hogadon superintendent Chris Smith, witnesses said the teenage male was snowboarding under the lift when he lost control.
“His friends said he was a beginning snowboarder, and an eyewitness said he was traveling at a high rate of speed when he fell and slid into the (chairlift) tower,” said Smith.
Casper Mountain Ski Patrol immediately responded and performed triage, according to Smith.
“Casper Mountain Ski Patrol did a fabulous job getting him up the mountain,” said Smith, where he was then transported to a hospital.
Smith was unable to describe the extent of his injuries.
“I did hear reports that the injured had fallen off the chairlift and that’s not true,” said Smith.
