Casper City Council has announced a vacancy in Ward I. The announcement follows the resignation of former Casper City Councilperson, Amanda Huckabay.
Ward I is described in a City press release, as “located between Poplar Street on the west and South Conwell Street to Bryan Stock Trail on the east.”

Any individual interested in serving on the Casper City Council is asked to submit an application and résumé to the City Clerk’s Office, 200 North David Street, no later than 5:00 pm, Monday, March 19, 2018.
The term of this vacancy will start at a date after interviews in March, and end on January 5, 2021. This Council position will be eligible for re-election in November 2018.
To qualify, you must be a registered voter in Natrona County and a resident of Ward I since at least March 1, 2018.

Huckabay took office in 2017, and served in the role for just over a year. During that year was a a rocky period of turnover in members of council and city staff, and the 2017 Eclipse.
Huckabay announced her resignation in an email, addressed to council, earlier this week. She expressed a desire for council to select a “strong female from Ward I,” to fill her position.
