The City of Casper is warning local businesses and visitors about a potential scam, that seems to be targeting hotel guests.

City officials sent out the following statement Thursday afternoon, asking visitors to be vigilant, and asking locals to spread the word.

“Casper lodging facilities would like to caution guests about a potential scam. Guests at a local hotel have reported receiving calls in their room, reportedly from the hotel front desk, requesting credit card information. Hotels will not contact guests via telephone requesting credit card information for any reason. Do not provide credit card information over the phone. Hotel guests should contact the front desk regarding any charges or questions.

Hotel guests are asked to immediately contact the front desk at your hotel have questions or have already been contacted for this information.”
