The Crawford Room was filled with the sound of crunching plastic and giddy children during a craft project at the Natrona County Public Library on Monday, July 3.

With a handful of supplies and about 30-minutes of work, children were able to launch a paper rocket through the air.

The device is simple: Get an empty plastic bottle, a piece of PVC pipe, a cheap bicycle inner tube, some tape and finally paper for your rocket. The rocket is launched from a puff of air caused by stomping on the bottle.

The project is one of many in the “Look Up” series for children at the library, which focuses on space and science in honor of the upcoming eclipse event.
