CASPER, Wyo. — House District 57 Representative Chuck Gray has sponsored a bill that would designate Outer Drive in Casper to the Donald J. Trump Highway.
“The entirety of state highway 258 shall be known as the ‘President Donald J. Trump Highway,’” the bill states.
The bill would require the installation of six signs along the roadway. The estimated total cost of the project in labor and materials is $6,825.
“The appropriation included in this bill will cover $2,800 of the total cost, leaving the net expenditure to the HIGHWAY FUND at $4,025,” the bill states.
The bill is co-sponsored by representatives John Bear, Tim Hallinan, Jeremy Haroldson, Mark Jennings, Chip Neiman, Clarence Styvar, and John Winter.
During a budget session, bills require a two-thirds vote of the body to be brought to the floor.
The legislative session begins Monday, Feb. 14.
NOTE: Gray contact Oil City to clarify that the State Highway 258 is currently fromally undesignated, so this bill would not constitute a “renaming” the roadway, as previously reported.
