The Wyoming Medical Center announced its agreement to acquire Mountain View Regional Hospital.

The for-profit MVRH is a 23-bed neurosurgical center that opened in 2008.

According to the release, Mountain View will be run as part of the WMC during the first half of 2018, though no specific date was given. Wyoming Medical Center spokesperson Kristy Bleizeffer said the hospital wasn’t releasing any additional information for the time being.

The release in full follows:

Wyoming Medical Center (“WMC”) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mountain View Regional Hospital (“MVRH”), a 23-bed physician partnered surgical hospital in Casper, Wyoming, from affiliates of Irving Place Capital and MVRH’s physician partners. MVRH was previously a subsidiary of National Surgical Healthcare (“NSH”), which was formerly a portfolio company of Irving Place Capital, until NSH’s merger with Surgery Partners, Inc. in 2017. This acquisition will expand the presence of Wyoming Medical Center to continue to serve the residents of Casper and the state of Wyoming.

“At Wyoming Medical Center and Mountain View Regional Hospital, we are dedicated to ensure the highest quality and exceptional patient and family experience possible for everyone who walks through our doors,” says Michele Chulick, the President and CEO of Wyoming Medical Center. “We are very excited about the additional services and presence that we will be able to offer through this acquisition.

“WMC has served Casper patients and families for more than a century. Over the years, we have evolved to meet patient and community needs in a rapidly changing healthcare market, and we continue to evolve as conditions require,” says Chulick. “The acquisition of Mountain View Regional Hospital is simply one more step in that evolution, and is being undertaken based on the belief that it will allow WMC to more effectively fulfill our core non-profit mission: ‘To advance the health and wellness of our region and community by providing excellent healthcare services and exceptional experience at reasonable costs.’”

Dr. Todd Hammond, the current Chairman of the Board of Mountain View Regional Hospital and one of the founders, says, “Mountain View was created to provide a hospital with a dedicated focus on musculoskeletal disease. During its eight years of operations, it has been successful in achieving this mission as evidenced by its numerous awards and recognitions. We have also been a strong supporter of many community and civic events. By becoming part of WMC, we are now able to continue that focus and have the advantage of access to their tertiary facility and the many outstanding caregivers on their staff.”

MVRH is expected to begin operating as part of WMC during the first half of 2018. MVRH currently offers a variety of medical services, including inpatient and outpatient surgery, with a specialty in neurosurgery, as well as on-site imaging and musculoskeletal physician services across the state of Wyoming.
