CASPER, Wyo. — As the new week begins, below-normal temperatures will keep Casper reaching for umbrellas and long sleeves. The National Weather Service in Riverton forecasts daily showers and thunderstorms, mainly developing during the afternoon. However, things are expected to shift by midweek, with temperatures returning to normal and the area drying up for the second half of the week.
Today, expect isolated showers and thunderstorms to pop up between 3 and 4 p.m. The day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 73. The wind is coming out of the west at 6–14 mph but will shift to the northeast in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 20%.
The sky will be mostly cloudy tonight, with a low around 51. The wind from the east will blow at 5–10 mph, decreasing after midnight.

Wednesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 57. The southwest wind will continue to be breezy, blowing at 8–17 mph and gusting at up to 25 mph.
Thursday will remain mostly sunny, with a high near 83 and a low around 52. The breeze will persist with a southwest wind at 8–13 mph, shifting to come out of the west at 19–24 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph.
Friday is forecast to be sunny, with a high near 84 and a low of 55.
Saturday will be sunny, with a high near 86 and a low of 56.
Sunday could see isolated showers and thunderstorms, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 82.
