Casper is gearing up for an annual holiday tradition, the seasonal lighting of Conwell Park.

The lighting ceremony for Conwell Park, Located at East 2nd and South Conwell streets is currently scheduled for Sunday November 19th. The Holiday Square Celebration is being hosted by the City of Casper, the Angels Cancer Care Program, and the Wyoming Medical Center foundation.

According to a media statement sent by City of Casper Officials, the Holiday Square Celebration will feature an outdoor patio on the Conwell Street side of the park, with food vendors and free hot cocoa and cookies, while they last.

The night will kickoff with the annual Reindeer Relay, and the lighting ceremony is currently set to take place at 5:00 pm.

Conwell Street, between East 1st and East 2nd Streets, will be closed during the ceremony. First street will also be closed between South Washington and South Wilson streets, during the event.

Parking is available at the Wyoming Medical Center, and street parking surrounding the closures around Conwell park.

The Reindeer Relay is a 5k run and walk for teams of 1 to eight people. Prizes will be given for individual male and female categories, and the first place team. A prize will also be given for best costume. Cost is $20 per racer.

Money raised during the Reindeer Relay will be used to benefit the Angels Cancer Care Program.

Registration for the Reindeer Relay is currently open, and available through the website, Event Brite.

Event Schedule, provided by the City of Casper:

2:30-3:45 pm- Registration for the Reindeer Relay at the Conwell Building (East 2nd Street and South Conwell Street)

4:00 pm- Reindeer Relay Begins, Food Vendors open

5:00 pm- Approximate time of the lighting ceremony. Free visits to Santa and Mrs. Claus begin. The Claus couple will be joined by special helpers Mackenzie Kern, Miss Wyoming Teen USA, and Callie Bishop, Miss Wyoming USA. Costumed character princesses will also be on hand to visit.

5:30 pm- Light Show

7:00 pm- Streets reopen. Costumed Princesses depart.

8:00 pm- Line for visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus closes. The couple will return to the North Pole following the event, according to officials.
